Assembly

Using the schematics from the Downloads section, follow these easy assembly guidelines to put together your own "MyDoorOpener" controller:

  • Wire the Arduino digital output pin #9 to the 1K resistor (any pin of the resistor is fine).

  • Wire the other end of the 1K resistor to the "base" pin of the 2N2222 transistor.

  • Wire the "emitter" pin of the 2N2222 transistor to the ground pin of the Arduino.

  • Wire the "collector" pin of the 2N2222 transistor to your relay's first controlling pin (X).

  • Wire your relay's second controlling pin (Y) to the Arduino's +5volts pin, to have a closed loop with (X).

  • Wire both pins (X and Y) from your relay in parallels with the 1N4004 diode. The grey end of the diode (cathode) should be connected to the (Y) pin of the relay (+5volts).

  • Wire both your relay's output pins (A and B) in parallels with your existing garage door wall button.
